Vega School opened in August 2023. We continue to grow and now need to strengthen our staff with an engaged and driven special needs teacher who is passionate about supporting students and employees at the upper secondary level (grades 7-9).

Vega School is located in the heart of Vegastaden, a newly built area in Haninge Municipality, just south of Stockholm with the commuter train station right next to the school.

The school covers grades F-9 as well as adapted primary education. In addition to teaching facilities, the school features a full-size sports hall, a public library, a youth center, a cultural school, a lecture/theater and orchestra hall, as well as cafés. In the restaurant Matgläntan, our kitchen staff prepares and serves delicious meals during the day.

The school's premises are spacious, modernly furnished, and contain everything required for high-quality education. When fully operational, the school will accommodate approximately 750 students. During the day, our premises are used by the school. After school hours, cultural schools, associations, and other actors operate in parts of the building.

Since the school is still relatively new, you are given great opportunities to influence and shape good routines for the operations.

Job Description

We are looking for you who are a qualified special needs teacher and feel confident in supporting both language, writing, and reading development as well as mathematics, with experience teaching at the upper secondary level.

We are looking for someone who is engaged and structured, but also creative and flexible. This means you have a high ability to organize and structure your work, as well as drive and responsibility to develop the operations together with colleagues at the school and within the network framework of Haninge Municipality.

You always have a respectful attitude towards colleagues, students, and guardians, and understand the importance of good relationships. You are receptive and flexible, and feel a great responsibility for your students and the operations.

You have the ability to help other pedagogical staff at the school grow in their meeting with our students. As a special needs teacher with us, you will become an important part of the student health team and the development of our student health work. We have a competent student health team that works closely together. At the school, there are currently two other special needs teachers and a business developer with a special pedagogical focus.

Your assignment includes both investigative and developmental work with an emphasis on preventive and health-promoting measures. Through your role, you contribute to ensuring that our students who are in need of special support receive individualized and inclusive treatment and measures that lead to increased goal fulfillment. The assignment also includes working with support teaching for individual students with special needs.

You enjoy working close to the school's work team, and we are therefore looking for you who are interested in contributing to shared learning. Through good and clear communication and responsibility, you contribute to a calm, safe, and pleasant work environment.

You are an engaged, driven, and positive person who finds qualified solutions to any challenges. You are structured and at the same time creative. You understand the importance of functioning relationships with students and their guardians. You are self-reliant but also value the importance of having good colleagues in your surroundings, whom you enjoy collaborating with.

Requirements

In the investigative work, you will among other things:

• conduct in-depth pedagogical mapping/investigations.
• be a support in the implementation of measures based on conducted mapping/investigation.
• drive follow-up and evaluation work.
• collaborate with guardians and lead meetings.

In the developmental work, you will, within your core competence, among other things:

• conduct educational measures based on the school's identified needs.
• provide guidance to the school's pedagogues and work team.
• have good knowledge of digital tools that you pass on to our pedagogues.
• be a central support in the analysis work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
• contribute to creating good learning environments for all students, with a focus on group and organizational levels.
